Daksh Gupta, CEO, Marshall Motors
Daksh has over 25 years’ experience in the automotive retail sector and joined the company in 2008 as its chief executive officer. Daksh was previously group managing director for Ridgeway Group and the chief operating officer of Accident Exchange Group PLC in 2007. He was also franchise director for Inchcape for seven years where he was responsible for the Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes-Benz brands.
John O’Hanlon, founder, Waylands
John has worked in motor retail for more than 28 years.
John is CEO of Waylands, the four site Volvo group based in Thames Valley. The group was established in November 2017 in a temporary site in Reading and has grown via the acquisitions of Newbury, Swindon and Oxford.
John’s stated ambition to grow the Waylands to £100 million turnover with a £2m balance sheet within three years. 2019 demonstrated excellent progress on this journey with 2019’s numbers recording £84m of turnover and a balance sheet of £0.8m.
Ian Plummer, commercial director, Auto Trader
Tracy Ellam, commercial director, Mazepoint
Tracy has over 23 years of automotive experience, 14 of which were within retailer finance roles, up to Finance Director, in both family-owned and PLC retailers. This included 10 years in the Mercedes-Benz network. She also spent 8 years at ASE where she was responsible for managing composite clients in the UK, Ireland and Southern Europe, whilst also delivering global and multi-market projects. Mazepoint is a business intelligence provider, creating actionable insights to ensure business leaders have the right information to continually adapt and enhance the performance of themselves and their organisation. Established over 20 years ago, Mazepoint works with thousands of users across multiple sectors, including many automotive retailer groups and OEMs.
Al Clarke, programme host, Auto Retail Network
Al has held senior executive roles with Ferrari, Maserati and the SMMT. Al started his career as a journalist and presenter with a decade working for the BBC and in commercial radio. He has a particular interest in the application of digital technology and connected car services in the automotive industry and regularly speaks at, and chairs events on, these issues.
