SsangYong appeals to Vauxhall retailers

  22 April 2018

SsangYong is looking to fill some of its 35 network open points from the pool of soon-to-be culled Vauxhall retailers.

Following Vauxhall’s announcement that  it  had  issued  termination  notices  to  all  326  of  its  franchise  holders  and  would  only  be  reappointing  just  more  than  200,  SsangYong  boss  Nick  Laird  contacted  Auto  Retail  Agenda  to  say  he  was  hoping  to  recruit  some  of  those  losing  out  on  a  new  Vauxhall  franchise.

Speaking exclusively to Auto Retail Agenda, Laird said: “We’re hiring.  We have 35 open points and if there are some smaller, privately owned, retail franchises then we would be happy to talk to them.  I, and I suspect everyone, feels for the Vauxhall network now.”

Mr Laird added that he thought that good local retailers could possibly put SsangYong and a second franchise into a former Vauxhall showroom.
