Boardroom restructure for Arnold Clark
07 February 2024
Arnold Clark has undergone an “internal restructure” resulting in the loss of four company directors this week.
Group finance director Jim Graham, group people director Carol Henry, group aftersales director Scott Grant are all still with the group but now only in operational roles. It is understood director Glen Gall has retired.
According to a statement by the Scottish group: “One of the directors has retired and is now not operational but the other three remain with the business in their operational roles and this is an internal restructure.
“We will operate with a larger number of operational directors and managers and fewer company directors.”
A spokesperson for the retailer added: “There will be no new directors appointed.”
All four are longstanding Arnold Clark employees. Graham has worked for the Scottish group since 2008, Henry since 2012, while Grant has worked his way up from the showroom floor.
Arnold Clark suffered a difficult year in 2023 which kicked off with the recovery of a significant cyber attack at the end of 2022. The latest financial results for the group for the year ended December 2022 showed a drop in profitability to £173.5 million down from £263m despite a rise in turnover which hit £4.9 billion.
