Election run-up blights car sales

Auto Retail Network’s annual dealer barometer has revealed that the run-up to this week’s General Election has had a marked, negative impact on car sales.

When asked ‘how has the election run-up impacted your business?’, 76.09% of respondents said new car sales were down. In addition, 42.22% said used car sales were also fallen as a direct result, though 53.33% said they had not experienced any change in used car sales.
