Perrys sees opportunities for growth in market for 2017

The to and fro between manufacturers and retailers about the achievability, or otherwise, of targets has been a characteristic of the industry for many years. The difference this time is that when the retailers are saying it’s going to be tough to hit the targets, they really mean it.

So says Ken Savage, chairman of Perrys, who adds: “We operate in a volume market, and our manufacturers of course have volume aspirations, but this year is going to be more of a challenge. I think the year will finish okay after a strong first quarter, but I don’t think it’s going to set any records. The advantage we have is in having a broad portfolio of franchises.”
